The Cinderwood Story

Our Journey

Like all great things, Cinderwood was born of necessity. The 601 building of Union Campus, an office park for entrepreneurs, techies, and smart creatives, had been planned long before a pandemic shut the world down. While the building was nearly leased out before breaking ground in 2019, the new world shifted things, leaving the 4th floor unfinished and unoccupied for two years after construction was completed on the rest of the building. A Union Campus tenant approached the building management asking if they could use the 4th floor space as the hub for a 2-day all-employee meeting for 200 people and use conference rooms throughout campus for their breakouts and meals.

And right there, a new space for business meetings, non-profits, and mini-conventions was born. Shortly after that event, some of the building's ownership and management came together to create Cinderwood, and the rest is history. It took nearly a year of 'build, hide the materials to host an event, and keep on building' but in November of 2023, Cinderwood had her grand opening and began her new life as Indy's newest event venue. In our short life so far, Cinderwood has been home to holiday parties, all-employee meetings, leadership retreats, NBA All Star game festivities, fundraisers and dinners. The question to ask now is, what chapter will you write in Cinderwood's history?

OUR FOUNDERS

Kristen & Jeremy Baynai

Kristen, a proud native of Indianapolis' Southside, is a true Hoosier through and through. She graduated from Southport High School and went on to earn her M.A. from Ball State University. When she's not cheering on the Colts, you'll often find her unwinding with a glass of wine on her front porch.

In 2012, Kristen and Jeremy tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony on Siesta Key Beach in Florida. Their journey together has since been blessed with two wonderful elementary-age children.

The Baynai's share a lifelong passion for organization – Jeremy once even sorted his Halloween candy in a tackle box! This couple has an innate ability to bring order to chaos and a remarkable talent for turning strangers into family.
